In 1950, Chou Chet alias Sy was sent to study politics in Vietnam. In 1951, [Chou Chet] joined the Indo-Chinese Communist Party. From 1951-63, [Chet] worked for Pracheachon Newspaper, collaborating with other parties to create the Workers' Party, led by Keo Meas and Hong Thun Hak, who lived in the region. [Chou Chet] also contacted Phim, Tum, and Phuong, etc. In 1963, [Chou Chet] and his wife, Ly, closed the newspaper and waited for information from their leaders to report to Saloth Sar. He left his house for Kampong Speu to build up CIA forces. In 1966, he took his wife to work as a cook for high ranking leaders in order to have her carry out the task of killing them (Brother Number 1 and Bother Van) with poison. At the same time, he tried to form traitorous groups in collaboration with the Vietnamese and Eastern Zone.
